About this deal

Equally, the ending throws a complete misdirection, making you question all that you’ve just read. Which of the above affects the actions of a minor most? Likewise, Moriguchi’s motive is justified, to a degree, but how far is too far?

I really enjoyed this story of revenge by Japanese writer Kanae Minato and found myself intrigued by the happenings in this Japanese school. Along the way we learn more about the different players, and the motives and reasoning behind some of their actions. Shuya's first public invention, an electric anti-mugger wallet, earned him a science fair award, but failed to make headlines as the media was distracted by the "Lunacy Murder" case. He upgraded the anti-mugger wallet, decided to try it out on someone, and roped Naoki in to help. They decided to test the wallet on Yuko's daughter, but when they did so, the girl was rendered unconscious. Shuya mistook this as death. Enraged, Naoki threw Manami into the pool where she drowned, proving that he was the real killer. Classmate Mizuki Kitahara tells Shuya that she believes Yuko lied about the contaminated milk as it was an implausible method of transmission. Mizuki confesses to him that she identifies with the girl in the "Lunacy Murder" case, who poisoned her parents. The two become romantically involved, but Shuya kills Mizuki after a confrontation over his abandonment complex. The tragedy that is at the heart of the novel is the death of a four-year-old girl, Manami, the daughter of middle-school-teacher and single mother Yūki Moriguchi (and one of the things about the novel that can be hard to take is that the child's death is described repeatedly; the variations don't make it any more tolerable). After reading the novel "Kokuhaku" director Tetsuya Nakashima wanted actress Takako Matsu to play the main role. Enough so that he said if Takako Matsu would not play the role he would not have made the film. This is a fast paced, thriller that had me on the edge of my seat. EVERY word written serves a purpose. There is absolutely no filler in this bad boy. Movies With Box Office Gross Receipts Exceeding 1 Billion Yen". Eiren. Motion Picture Producers Association of Japan. 2010 . Retrieved 7 May 2020. Comenzamos la narración con la voz de la profesora de instituto Yuko Moriguchi, la cual ha perdido a su pequeña Manami de cuatro años en lo que parece ser un trágico accidente. Me ha gustado mucho aprender cosas de este país que desconocía, como la edad a la que los jóvenes entran en la mayoría de edad (20 años), la ofrenda monetaria que hacen a las familias en caso de un fallecimiento o los turnos que realizan entre los propios alumnos para entre todos mantener las aulas limpias. The writing is clear and precise, the plot is always engaging, and there’s plenty to think about long after reading. As you read through, a new awakening is discovered, creating an ever increasingly complex scenario around which to ponder.

with thrillers, i enjoy the suspense, trying to solve the mystery. but the entire thriller component is divulged in the first chapter, aka the first confession. which is how this book is organised - each chapter is a different confession from someone who is connected to the main event (the teacher whose daughter was killed, the students who killed her, a classmate, and a sister). each POV retells the same event, but provides different insight as to why the murder happened and the fallout of everything afterwards.

Tetapi sebelum itu dia masih memiliki satu pesan terakhir untuk murid-muridnya. Dia akan menceritakan sebuah kisah yang akan mengubah pandangan semua siswanya tentang dua teman sekelas mereka. Noah Galvin is the brother of one of my favorite female narrators, Emma Galvin, and they are some talented siblings when it comes to narration. Elaina Erika Davis was also an amazing narrator and she carried about 70% of the book, so major props to her! Both Galvin and Davis will receive an A from me on my grading scale. Me parece perfecto y es una manera de que los jóvenes valoren y respeten más la labor de los mayores.

Un thriller que me habían recomendado por activa y por pasiva. Me ha reconciliado con la literatura negra japonesa. Impresionante.

Confessions is presented in six parts, in each of which a different character recounts events that affect them all (the first and last sections have the same narrator, and in another the 'confession' -- a mother's diary -- is nested in a section narrated by her daughter).

Before anything else there is also a movie version of this book which I prefer more because that movie is literally art. Kudos, Madam Minato, for such a thought-provoking novel. Full of the criminal element and personal angst, I can see why you received such literary praise. Misunderstandings and an inability to convey feelings and desires abound -- reflecting adolescent confusion, but also taking it to rather great extremes. even though the execution wasnt my favourite, i did actually enjoy the essence of the story. i thought the motives were interesting and the effects of the characters actions intriguing. i just wish it had been told in 3rd person with a more traditional linear narration. oh well. :/

Sama seperti bukunya, film Confessions menuai sukses dan diganjar sejumlah penghargaan di berbagai festival film. Film ini bahkan sempat mewakili Jepang di Academy Award 2011. But don’t worry about that last issue, because Minato’s conclusion takes things way beyond the point of no return. The English edition of Minato's Confessions, published in August 2014, was described by a critic as "the Gone Girl of Japan." [8] Kitabın çevirisi, ne yazık ki ingilizceden. Arada, düşük anlamlı cümleler karşınıza çıkıyor ve bence çevirinin çevirisi olduğunu arada hissediyorsunuz. Her şeye rağmen bu durumu görmezden gelebiliyorsunuz okurken. On par with the work of renowned Japanese author Keigo Higashino, this has to be one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time. Its style is reminiscent of Minato’s second translated book, Penance, as each chapter is afforded a second-person perspective on a particular event.
