About this deal

For the very first time, we’ll be getting Marvel Legends Madelyne Pryor and X-Cutioner figures as part of this lineup! I was an overall big fan of the inaugural Marvel Legends X-Men 97 series, as I thought it gave us very good takes on every character in the lineup—just with a dearth of accessories in most cases.

Everything that I said about the previous face holds true for this one, however, I do have a couple nitpicks here. This collectible 6-inch scale Marvel figure is inspired by Nightcrawler's appearance in Marvel Studios' X-Men '97 animated series. With sticky hands, a sharp tail, and piercing yellow eyes, The trouble-making Mutant Nightcrawler scales walls and teleports from place to place.

Historian, Air Force Veteran, and dedicated collector of Mezco Toyz, Marvel Legends, and is obsessed with Star Wars. Sorry Grey costume Nightcrawler fans—this is the iconic red and black costumed Nightcrawler through-and-through! His pointed ears jut out from behind his sculpted sideburns, and the hair is beautifully sculpted and swept back. The fuzzy blue elf lost his sword from the previous release, but still has alternate hands and an extra head.Yeah, there’s some bleed through on the red paint, which is a shame, but surprisingly there’s none at all on the white. This costume is reminiscent of the 80s comic book costume from when Magneto was affiliated with the Hellfire Club, so it’s not an entirely unprecedented look. Cyclops comes with 5 hands, an optic blast effects piece, and an interchangeable angry head that all add tons of dynamic posing potential. One thing that’s a little weird about this release is that this is an action figure of an actual member of X-Force, being released as part of the X-Force Marvel Legends series… in his non-X-Force classic costume.

Kurt’s V-shaped vest is painted on below the chest, but sculpted above it and it flares out from the shoulders. Besides having a noticeably deeper blue for his costume, his various straps are all now permanently affixed so that they don’t incessantly slide down his limbs and drive me into a rage. The second head offers a broad smile and I’m very glad that Hasbro included this one as it very much suits his personality, particularly in the earlier appearances. Also, I could be mistaken, but I believe there are butterfly shoulder joints concealed beneath his tunic.Hasbro is unlikely to redo many of these molds used for this figure anytime soon for that reason, so hopefully they got them right!
