LIGHTWEIGHT: The Naturehike cloud up tent still maintains the ultralight weight that minimalist backpackers look for.

One thing we’d suggest any owner of the Cloud UP do is to add some colour coding to the poles and fasteners on the tent body and fly sheet to speed up the pitching process. Conditions: Has been used over the last three years, one to three nights at a time, year-round; in heavy wind and rain, and in the cold—but not in blizzards. Front-opening tent door: It makes the inner space larger, and personal equipment can also be placed in the front door area. Be aware – AliExpress said that the tent came with a “mat” and I assumed that meant a sleeping mat, but no, what it meant was it came with a “groundsheet” to put under the tent to protect the floor.Ventilation: Stuffy on warm and muggy nights not helped by my snow skirt version, I unzipped the front door (but kept it tabbed closed with the velcro) and that helped. However, according to what people are saying online, the difference is really negligible (again, I personally haven’t tried out the FlyCreek). I originally read that it is sometimes slightly harder on certain parts of Te Araroa to find a spot to set up a 2-person tent, but in the entire 155 days I never had a problem finding a space to pitch the tent. Construction - The construction could be better with a cross bar to strengthen its structure, but the lack of it only makes the living space too small.

Inside of the tent, there is a wonderful small bag which can make your trip more fun, just put your books or magazines in the bag. Though the pole feature is a plus for quick setup, the tiny pocket and vestibule are way smaller than average and doesn’t give a relaxing space. I liked my tent well enough that I plan to use it into the future, and I’d recommend it as good value for money.

The lightweight stakes included with the Cloud Up 2 are decent enough, but did eventually bend over time.
